I love you. … I know.
Liam sure is proud of his Millennium Falcon. He’s gotten lots of emails about it over the past few weeks. No one was more impressed by his sweet ride than his girlfriend, Emerald, though. When Emerald and her parents (Our good friends Jake and Jenn) visited us this week, our little Han Solo couldn’t wait to share with his Princess Leia. You know we had to take pictures, right? I’ll let them tell the story.

December Ambushed Me… Again
I know others out there can relate: You’re walking along, minding your own business and suddenly KAPOW! Ambushed and tackled to the ground by December. Even though it snuck up on me last year, too, (And last year I swore I’d be better prepared this year!) somehow December continues to ambush me. Every. Year.

We’re Officially Grown-Ups
I don’t know why, (since it’s completely ridiculous) but I’ve always considered a few certain milestones in life to be a requirement before one could consider themselves a true grown-up. Those milestones (for me) included getting married, buying a car, having kids, and buying a house. You know, grown-up stuff. Real commitments and responsibilities. So let’s see…
Get married? Check.
Buy a car? Check.
Have kid(s)? Check.
Buy a house? CHECK.

He’s Here! Welcome, Liam Richard
Not that I have time to blog, but just wanted to let you know that Liam Richard Karpiuk arrived on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 9:18pm. He weighed 8lbs 3oz and was 22 inches long and resulted from a relatively easy labor and delivery. Everyone is doing well, and Liam is of course absolutely perfect and we are head over heels in love.

The Karpiuks Went to Dragon Con!
New photos! New photos! Last weekend Lucas and I attended Dragon Con in Atlanta, GA, and there are lots of new photos to share from our adventures there. We hopped in the car after work on Friday and drove to Georgia with our friend Chris. It was a fun roadtrip! We arrived late but got to meet my #WonderTwin Kara, and her husband Jake, who helped us check in at the hotel. We took Oscar the Cthulhu, made by Ruth, and Oscar went everywhere I went, ensuring he got to partake in the fun of the weekend.
Saturday was our first day at the convention. Even though Dragon Con had started officially on Friday, I didn’t …

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you and yours from the Karpiuk family!
To kick off 2010, we’ve given our blog a major facelift, as you’ve probably noticed. Not only do we have a new layout, but we’ve got a whole new domain as well. The old gallery system has been replaced by a slick Flickr account integration; you can see the most recent uploads in a photostream off to the right there, and clicking the “gallery” link above will take you to all of our photos (most recent sets at the top) and photo collections. Everything from the old Look At Us Go gallery has been moved over and old links on Look At Us Go will …

Somehow, it’s Christmas
Wow, somehow it’s almost Christmas. (yay!) Wow, I’m almost 30. (boo!) and a lot has happened since our last post in June. (That kinda rhymed.) Let me give you the quick rundown.
1. We spent a fantastic belated honeymoon/anniversary trip in Nova Scotia in June. (See our last post.) It was wonderful!
2. We moved back to the states (Indiana) at the end of July/first of August.
3. I started teaching Computer Applications at the middle school, and love it.
4. We moved into our own place at the end of October.
5. My brother and sister-in-law had their first child — we’re now an aunt and uncle to one adorable William Herman.
6. We had our first (U.S.) Thanksgiving with …

Back to School
As most are wrapping up (or already have wrapped up) the last few days/weeks of school, I’m gearing up to take an online course that starts next week. Exciting! I need a few more credits this summer to renew my Indiana State Teaching License in time for the next/upcoming school year, and so I’ve signed up with the University of Phoenix Online. The main course I’m taking is on Classroom Management. We’ll be studying and discussing various classroom management models and examining them for pros and cons. By the end of the class (3 weeks long) we’ll put together a short paper on our ideal classroom management model, hopefully containing bits and pieces from the various …
