My 27th birthday is next week but we have plans to head out of town right after, so I’m super lucky to have the world’s greatest man, who not only thought of giving me my gift a week early so I’d have enough time to play with it, but the gift itself is on a level of greatness all its own. Lucas managed to secretly get me a Wii, Nintendo’s latest (7th generation) gaming console, which I was given last night. In no time at all, we were up and running and trying out Wii Sports, the default game bundled with Wiis sold in North America. I don’t think my jaw left …

We’re Not Dead…
… we’ve just been busy ;)
As it’s the last day of November, I think it’s appropriate to reflect on the month. Earnings made it a busy month for Lucas at work, and I’ve been busy crafting up Christmas presents for our friends and family. Everyone on our lists are getting handmade gifts this year! I can’t really elaborate without spoiling things, so I’ll leave it at that.
Last weekend we celebrated American Thanksgiving and made our very first whole turkey in the oven. It turned out fairly decent – a little dry – but not bad! We also had mashed potatoes, peas, pumpkin pie, and pineapple pie. Mmmmm, and yes, …

Shorts on a Train
It’s been a bit since I’ve updated, but it’s because we’ve been so busy! Last weekend my parents came up for their first trip to Calgary, and we had a fantastic time. They got in Friday, and we spent Saturday checking out the city and downtown, then Sunday we spent the day in Banff sightseeing and taking in the mountain scenery. We caught the Ladysmith Black Mambazo concert Sunday night, and had breakfast Monday morning before both my parents and Lucas’ flights. That’s right – my parents headed back to the U.S. and Lucas also headed to the U.S. for a business trip in L.A. to work with the MarketWire software …

A Vision in my Cream of Wheat?
I found a face in my usual breakfast of Cream of Wheat this morning. True story. I prepared the uncooked mixture for the microwave, then tended to fixing a small cup of yogurt while it cooked. The microwave finished and I retrieved the steaming bowl, only to look down and see a face staring back up at me.
Sadly, forces had already been put into motion by the time I noticed this face that would blend it in and send it back to the nether realm from which it came, all before I had a chance to grab the camera.
So who was in my Cream of Wheat?

WE vs DODGE!
So, we took the Neon into the nearest Dodge dealer to have an out-of-province inspection, as required in order to register the vehicle and get us some fancy Alberta plates (so much for my ability to blow off my bad driving habits with, “hey, I’m from Indiana…”). We dealt with this dealership earlier in the year when some crackhead destroyed the steering column while trying to steal the Neon, and our experience with them was not exactly what we would describe as positive – especially compared to the insurance company, who were above and beyond.
Sufficive to say, they have not increased their level of respect with us…
From NFL.com:
“The Eagles started slowly, but Donovan McNab ran for two touchdowns and threw for a pair to lead Philadelphia to a 31-9 win over the Packers on Monday night.”
There is nothing sweeter after a Bears victory to watch the Packers continue their sucking streak on Monday Night Football and get crushed by their opponents on the nationally televised broadcast. Poor Favre. He looked so old and sad last night everytime they did a close up. Not to mention that gray beard he’s sporting now just isn’t very distinguishing on such a crumpled look of defeat. Why is it that he didn’t just retire, again?
The Chicago Bears are on top of …
