Dear Great Grandma,
Summertime is here! Mama and daddy take me to the park a lot, and I love to climb the jungle gym and slide down the slide. Being outside is my favorite! Did you know that I’m a big boy now? Mama says I am almost 2 years old and that my birthday is this month. I’m growing so fast! I can’t wait to see you at my birthday party. I love you, see you soon!

Dear Liam,
We are super lucky to live practically next door to a tiny local airport, and much to your delight, we often see planes landing or taking off… or at the very least we’ll see plenty of planes up in the sky for you to admire. It’s become routine for us to count the number of planes on the runway or hangars whenever we pass by. The airport hosts a few drive-in/fly-in pancake breakfasts to raise money for its youth program in the summertime. (This youth program starts at age 8, so we’ll keep this in mind for the future if you’re still interested!)

Dear Liam,
Most of the year, we’re in school. What I mean is mama is a teacher and you go to “school.” (Daycare)
This school year was wonderful for you. You loved your classroom, your teacher, and all of your friends. You were always so excited about going to school! I know it’s because you had such loving, caring teachers who made learning fun.

Dear Liam,
This week, you had to leave on the second-to-last day of school because you had a fever. My poor baby! It’s always heartbreaking when you’re sick. I took you to the doctor and while we were waiting, you helped count items hanging on the wall in the doctor’s office.

Dear Liam,
Your daddy taught you how to arm wrestle recently, and you think it’s really hilarious when you win. (Which is always, when you go up against your daddy. Hate to break it to you, but I think he lets you win.)

Today as I was going through the videos I had on my iPad, I came across a gem from 4 months ago that I had forgotten all about.
It’s you, showing off your sweet sweet dance moves. My favorite part is about 15 seconds in, when you put your hands on your hips and start doing this hilariously awesome swaying motion back and forth. You really get down!

Dear Liam,
At bedtime you always request the same song: ABC. Depending on who puts you to bed, you’ll get to hear it 3 – 5 times as you’re getting snugly with Lovey, Monkey, Sheep, Tiger, and the rest of your “dudes.” (aka all of your stuffed animals.) In case you’re curious, I will sing ABC with you an average of 3 times, while daddy is a bigger sucker and will sing it approximately 5 times, and usually more. I often press my ear against the door outside of your room and listen to him sing to you with a huge sappy smile on my face, just so you know.

Dear Great Grandma,
Springtime is the perfect time for bike rides! Mama and I go on bike rides all the time. We wear our helmets to be extra safe. I like when the weather is nice because then we get to play outside. I can’t wait for summer to arrive! It was nice to see you for Mother’s Day dinner, I love you!
