Dear Liam,

Though you’ve held the spoon before with our help, we let you do it all by yourself today to see how it would go. You had so much fun being a big boy and using the spoon all by yourself, scooping applesauce out of a cup and into your mouth. Usually. Of course some ended up on the floor, on the tray, in your hair, and all over your face… but that was half the fun of learning! You love being independent and we were just as proud of you as you were with yourself.
