Dear Liam,

It’s official: we’re homeowners!

Today we closed on our very first house. The three of us met the construction manager to do a final walkthrough and you were all smiles. By the time we met at the main office to begin the closing procedures and sign all of the final paperwork, you had fallen asleep. In no time at all the keys were in our hands, and we popped by the house again to take pictures to commemorate the occasion. Your daddy held you in “the arm chair” (your favorite hold, by the way) and you grasped the keys to our house and posed so mama could take photos of you two on the front walkway together. Wow, I can’t believe we own a home now!

You are going to grow up in this home; we can’t wait to decorate it and settle in and make it our own. There’s so much space for you to explore once you’re mobile. Daddy showed you all of the big open carpeted areas where you’ll likely learn to crawl, and we showed you where your bedroom is and started to figure out where all of your dinosaur artwork would hang. Everything is so bright and fresh and new; a blank palette for colors as well as memories.
