Just when I think it’s starting to feel like spring, it gets cold again. After a weird inch or so of snow early in the week, we got a burst of warm sunshine and spring-like weather. By the time I’m writing this weekly recap on Sunday, though, it’s already back down to 30F. Figures.Â
We took advantage of the few surprise warm days to get outside and go on Lila’s first walk around the neighborhood. Our days around the house have been lazy and cuddly with tummy time and lots of naps. Lila is holding her head up really well already. Liam still adores her and continuously refers to her as HIS baby and showers her in hugs and kisses any chance he gets. This weekend he read a story to her, which was adorable.
Liam is pretty baby crazy right now. He insists on swaddling his stuffed monkey, George, to go to bed. When I check on him before I go to bed, he’s often holding his still-swaddled George in his sleep. (And usually wearing a Batman cape, too.) His school celebrated the Special Olympics this week, and one day he was supposed to wear his favorite “Olympic outfit.” We didn’t really know what that meant, but he wore his Calgary Flames hockey jersey, as it was the closest way to show love for Olympic hockey. I cherished some mama and Liam time on the weekend while Lila napped; for the first time in probably what feels like forever, I was able to get down on the floor and roughhouse with Liam. We had so much fun. There were a lot of tickles and giggles.
