Happy May! Today (May 4th) is Star Wars Day, as in, may the fourth be with you. We started off our morning with Millennium Falcon and TIE Fighter shaped pancakes, which were a lot of fun. Last Sunday we visited the newly renovated Coliseum at the State Fairgrounds to check out the Indy Fuel Open House. The Fuel is a brand new professional hockey team (ECHL) that will have its inaugural season this year in October. We can’t wait! The team is directly affiliated with the Chicago Blackhawks and we are looking forward to attending games when the new season starts!  We were able to get out on the rink (no ice) and see where the team will be playing its home games. Exciting!
This week Lila and I visited grandma to go shopping (this has become a habit!) and Liam had Wacky Wednesday at school where he wore his shirt backwards and his jeans inside out. I pulled out the sewing machine and tried my hand at making some onesie dresses for Lila, and gave Liam his first sewing lesson. He looks like a natural! On the weekend, we went to an event at a local dealership where Liam got to meet the Indianapolis 500 princess (he was so shy!) and see the official Indy 500 Pace Car. We also checked out an exotic animal exhibit at the county fairgrounds where we met a kangaroo and saw lots of reptiles like snakes. The weather was just right for Liam to fly his very first kite with daddy.
