This week we wrapped up my summer vacation by spending as much time outdoors together as we could before I head back to work again bright and early tomorrow morning. The temperatures were in the low to mid 70s all week long, which was magnificent. I think one of our best purchases this summer was the bike rack because ever since we put it on the car, we’ve taken our bikes and Liam’s bike trailer everywhere. We went back to our favorite park with the covered bridge several different times this week, and rode our bikes a few miles south to yet another park where Liam could play before biking back. Lucas took a day off with us and we explored the parks and the river bank where Liam showed him all of the shells he’d found there before. Liam got a haircut, helped daddy grill dinner, and we canned watermelon jam and zesty salsa, too. Liam got a stomp rocket and had a blast launching rockets in the front yard… several ended up on the roof and consequently, so did Lucas. (Who then got stuck.) We appreciate our neighbors who had a bigger and better ladder than we did to help him get back down again! It sure was nice spending my last week of summer out in the sunshine with my boys.
