This week was a short week at work and school because Liam and I had fall break! Show and tell this week was a Halloween craft that Liam and I made together – a cottonball ghost! We had a blast gluing cotton to black felt and adding the eyes and mouth. Lucas took Friday off to have a long weekend, too, and he and I booked a long weekend getaway in French Lick, IN. Liam got to visit and stay with grandma and grandpa and play with his cousins for the weekend. We stayed at the West Baden Springs Resort, which was beautiful and relaxing: exactly what we needed. It was quiet and everything was perfect. We enjoyed some fancy dinners, room service desserts and breakfasts, and a couples massage. The gardens and grounds of the resort gave us a lot to explore. On Saturday the weather was a bit cold and rainy, so we traveled to a nearby town that had a big indoor arts and crafts show. We picked out custom matching rings, which we had engraved with “Liam & Lila” … somehow even when we’re on vacation we’re thinking of the kid and kid-to-be. Speaking of Liam, he and grandma and grandpa had a fun weekend together, too. On Sunday they met with Uncle Herman and Aunt Lora and cousins Will & Jackson at a local pumpkin patch, and Liam picked out a big pumpkin for himself, and a little pumpkin for baby Lila. We’ve got one more day off together for fall break, so I think we’ll decorate our pumpkins tomorrow. What a great, relaxing weekend!
